A Dutch TV show called Zembla has just published a scathing documentary outlining the many connections between Donald Trump and his numerous connections to Russian mafia.
While the documentary at times poses more questions than it answers, it’s a fascinating look at the shadowy Trump business deals. Back in the 1990s, Trump filed for bankruptcy several times and American banks wouldn’t loan him money. So, as the story goes, Trump turned to Russian oligarchs to fund his real estate deals. The connections between he and these Russian criminals isn’t two or three steps removed, they worked directly with Trump himself.
One of those mobsters is Felix Sater worked directly with Trump. Here’s a copy of his business card.
According to a lawyer in the documentary, it would not be difficult to prove Trump knew who he was dealing with and would therefore himself be convicted of racketeering and money laundering.
Watch the documentary and judge for yourself.
Three Democrats voted for Gorsuch to be a Supreme Court Justice, rewarding the Republican party’s successful theft of a Supreme Court seat.
Joe Manchin of West Virginia. He’s up for reelection next year.
Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota. She’s up for reelection next year.
Joe Donnelly of Indiana. He’s up for reelection next year.
If these three do not pay a price by losing their seat in the Senate, the Democratic party will have once again failed miserably.
The GOP refused to hold a hearing or vote on President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee Garland. Then when Democrats used the filibuster to stop the Gorsuch nomination, the GOP changed the Senate rules and got rid of the 200-year-old rule allowing the filibuster of Supreme Court nominees. And Donald Trump is currently under FBI investigation for colluding with Russian spies/hackers to undermine our electoral system and democracy.
If we allow this to happen with no repercussions, we’re complicit in this fraud. We let George Bush off the hook for his war crimes, torturing and disgusting behavior. Will we do the same with Trump and the GOP?
It’s nearly impossible to stay focused on any one Donald Trump story for more than a few hours, a new one drops every 6 hours. But this one about the hotel in Azerbaijan is important – it shouldn’t be forgotten too quickly.
If it’s accurate, The New Yorker’s Adam Davidson has uncovered a silver bullet that doesn’t just take down Donald Trump with impeachment – if convicted, Trump could go to federal prison with his daughter Ivanka.
As the story goes, the Trump organization working with the most corrupt government official in one of the most corrupt countries in the world would undoubtedly violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977.
Azerbaijan Transportation Minister Ziya Mammadov is widely known for his close relationship with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and for being extremely corrupt. Mammadov’s salary is less than $15,000 a year, yet he’s a billionaire. Iran’s ideologically driven military force, is locked down by sanctions and can not legally do business with Americans or American companies. Via construction contracts, Mammadov can essentially launder Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps money. Building Trump International Hotel & Tower Baku is apparently one such construction project.
While lots of companies can get off with paying fines for violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, some of the fines are in the hundreds of millions dollars, and sometimes people go to federal prison.
Just look at Frederick Bourke. He spent nearly a year in federal prison for violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. He ran a handbag company.
This has been pretty apparent for months now, but the information is trickling out. Sanders primary voters got played by Russian propagandists.
The Huffington Post has the latest installment in this story “The Bernie Sanders Campaign Faced A Fake News Tsunami. Where Did It Come From?”
The HuffPo story details how a network of fake news stories and sock puppet accounts flooded Sanders social media networks after he lost the primary. The ultimate goal wasn’t to get people to vote for Donald Trump, but to get people to not vote for Hillary Clinton. That’s where the story about Clinton molesting children at a DC pizza place originated.
I personally remember this wave of news stories. As a Sanders primary voter, once I switched to a Clinton supporter, the vitriol and hatred from my fellow Sanders supporters (or who I thought were Sanders supporters) was disgusting. I was called every name in the book for even suggesting that these bogus stories were fake.
Well they were fake. Millions of people who probably would have done what I did when Sanders lost the primary and voted for Clinton – didn’t.
“The glory which is built upon a lie soon becomes a most unpleasant incumbrance. … How easy it is to make people believe a lie, and how hard it is to undo that work again!” — Mark Twain
People were too quick to believe any negative story about Clinton and didn’t even care if it was true or not. And like I said, the purpose wasn’t necessarily to convince people to vote for Trump, but to simply not vote for Clinton by either not voting or voting for Stein or writing in a candidate. Vladimir Putin’s hatred of Clinton runs much deeper than his love for Trump, but now that Putin owns Trump and the Oval, his plan worked remarkably well.
Donald Trump messed up. By appointing his close advisor Steve Bannon to the National Security Council, he’s opened the door for Senate Democrats to tear him to shreds in a confirmation hearing.
While everyone was freaking about Trump’s Muslim ban, he quietly removed the director of national intelligence and the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff as permanent attendees of the National Security Council.
But making Bannon, who ran a racist website before running Trump’s campaign, a permanent member on the National Security Council means the Senate gets to have a say.
Here’s the relevant section of the law.
It’s that last bit there that I think pertains to Bannon.
when appointed by the President by and with the advice and consent of the Senate
But maybe Trump just does it without Senate confirmation.
Who is Stephen K. Bannon?
